Passivation
Passivation is a process performed to make a surface passive, i.e., a surface film is created that causes the surface to lose its chemical reactivity. Here oxygen is absorbed by the metal surface, creating a mono-molecular oxide film.

- They remove corrosion susceptibility of the surface.
- Effective spread = 55 - 70 sq.ft /kg or 5 to 6.5 sq m /kg.
- Least fumigant.
